It was invented by Edwin Herbert Land

Polaroid, the instant camera, was invented by Edwin Herbert Land in 1948. During that time, people began using the device to take pictures and have them developed in 60 seconds. Land was born in 1909 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and studied optics in the New York Public Library. In addition to studying optics, he conducted experiments in a basement laboratory at Columbia University. Land eventually returned to Harvard University to study physics, and was later appointed to the President’s Science Advisory Committee and Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board. He also helped the civil rights movement by hiring minorities for his company.

It produces three – dimensional moving pictures

Originally, theaters had two side-by-side projectors, each holding a 10 to 15-minute film reel. The projectionist switched between the two when a “cue” signal was visible in the upper-right corner of the screen. In addition, three-dimensional films were made with larger film reels, which were simultaneously shown. Consequently, intermissions were needed to reload the film reels.
